So l\u00e4sst es sich Autofahren<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\nEinfach nur geil!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Shenandoah (in Virginia) ist wirklich sch\u00f6n und vielseitig!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Es gibt viel Wald, H\u00fcgel und Fl\u00fcsse mit sogar ein paar Wasserf\u00e4llen. Aber man muss sich auf jeden Fall auf jede Menge Lauferei einstellen! Ich habe in Shenandoah um die 33000 Schritte gemacht und bin Niklas glaube ich etwas auf den Sack gegangen. \ud83d\ude00 Dies war mir aber herzlich egal, bin ja schlie\u00dflich Kaufmann und kein Marathonl\u00e4ufer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hier ein paar Impressionen aus Shenandoah:<\/p>\n\n\n\nNach einer Nacht auf dem h\u00f6chsten Punkt in Shenandoah, dem Hawksbill, die einfach nur Arschkalt war… Sind wir a Samstagmittag nach D.C. gefahren (nur ungef\u00e4hr eine Stunde vom n\u00f6rdlichen Ende von Shenandoah). Auf dem Weg noch schnell ein Hotel gebucht und zack waren wir da. Und was soll ich sagen, das Hotel h\u00e4tte nicht besser sein k\u00f6nnen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\nNach einer mehr als verdienten Dusche sind wir dann die ungef\u00e4hr 500m zum Kapitol gegangen und haben uns die gesamte National Mall angeguckt. Hier wollte mein Knie dann f\u00fcr kurze Zeit nicht mehr weiter, aber nach einer eiskalten Gatorade und ein wenig Facetime mit Till, Wiegard, Daniel, Nikki und Co. ging es wieder. (in Washington waren es so ungef\u00e4hr 38000 Schritte…)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hier ein paar Washingtoner Impressionen:<\/p>\n\n\n\nEs war ein wirklich beeindruckendes Gef\u00fchl an den Orten zu sein, die man sonst nur aus Filmen oder den Nachrichten kennt. Die Aufteilung der National Mall ist schon wirklich besonders. F\u00fcr mich am beeindruckendsten war definitiv zum einen das Lincoln Memorial, insbesondere der Ausschnitt aus der Gettysburg Address und dass Niklas und ich Kamala Harris zur\u00fcckkommen haben sehen k\u00f6nnen. Wir sahen nur den Secret Service Touristen von der Wiese vorm Wei\u00dfen Haus scheuchen und als dann der ersten Bombensp\u00fcrhunde rausgeholt wurden, dachten wir uns: „Da warten wir mal ab“. Und siehe da, die Vizepr\u00e4sidentin fuhr vorbei. Wenn man heranzoomt, kann man Frau Harris auch gut erkennen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Abends sind wir dann in den Pub in unserem Hotel gegangen und haben das ein oder andere Bierchen und den ein oder anderen Whiskey genossen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Am Sonntag haben wir uns das National History Museum und das National Air and Space Museum angeschaut. National History war ganz interessant, allerdings ist das Pendant in London besser und ansprechender. Und Air and Space war ziemlich langweilig, da die interessante Halle aufgrund von Umbauarbeiten gesperrt ist. Wenigstens habe konnte ich mal eine V1 und die gro\u00dfe Schwester die V2 von nahem sehen. \ud83d\ude09 des Weiteren gab es noch eine Hispanoparade, da der September der Hispanic Heritage Month ist. Es war sehr interessant die verschiedenen L\u00e4nder und Kulturen zumindest ein wenig zu sehen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
